A Few Things Alaskan

A Few Things Alaskan

So I am still very serious about the possibility of moving to Alaska to teach. In researching different areas, if you haven’t noticed the state is HUGE, I’ve found a few that I am more interested in and a few I’d like to avoid. One thing that has helped me do a little research, not only on different areas but life in the bush, are blogs. So I thought I’d introduce a few blogs that I’ve enjoyed following for the past few months.

Ignorance Without Arrogance – Written by Clay who has a great sense of humor this blog is one of my favorites for the humor. Even through the humor you can get a glimpse of life in the bush.

A few others I like:

Alaskan Adventures with Sammy Jo

Great Wide 49

Life Below Zero

There are more but these are at least updated once in a while. I’ve read a few older ones too that gave good info but are no longer updated as the folks running them left Alaska.

Another Alaskan thing I have gotten into lately is the TV show Alaska State Troopers. This is a great show and a few of the seasons are on Netflix. It is sort of a combination of a wildlife show, a travel show, and cops. What a win win I think.
