This past Saturday my friends and I headed down to Busan to take in the views and the water. It turned out to be a great time to get out of Daegu and hit the road. After a slow train ride down to Busan, we made our way to Haeundae Beach. We didn’t plan on going swimming but taking a ride on a boat around some islands out in the sea.
After a short walk down the beach we found the boat. Since we had some time to kill before the boat left, we headed to a nearby restaurant to get some lunch. It turns out it was a famous fish restaurant that has been visited by many famous Koreans. It was a delicious lunch of fish, kimchi jjighae, some random sides like anchovies, and an egg I think that was steamed. It was all amazing, and I am glad we went. I don’t know what kind of fish it was, but it was small and served with the head and everything. It reminded me a little of the brim we used to eat at my grandparents house when I was a kid.
After eating lunch we headed back to the boat to take a ride. It was an hour long ride out around an area with 6 islands. We got a great view of the city skyline from the boat and attempted to take photos of it.
Many people fed the seagulls as I tried to take photos of them. It was fun trying to catch the birds in view and in focus. We attempted to get them catching the chips that people were throwing but that was a little too hard.
It was a great photo opportunity and one of the main reasons I wanted to go. Seeing the skyline was interesting along with the small islands and light houses. It was beautiful but it was difficult to photo with the boat rocking. Eventually I’ll get around to doing some editing of the photos to make them a little better. I was still able to capture the moment and get some good photos.
The trip was a blast and I would recommend it to anyone in Busan, especially if you like taking photos. The boat shop is at the end of the main drag at Haeundae Beach.
