Sometimes You Need a Proofreader

English is everywhere here in Korea.  People are fascinated with it even if they don’t know what it says.  Everywhere you go there are English sayings on t-shirts, store windows, menus, notebooks and just about everything else you can think of.  Many times the words are just misspelled a little, but more times than not, the saying is totally butchered.

So far some of my favorites are as follows:

Watcoes around comes around (t-shirt)

The Small is Beautiful (store front)

Eye Feel (store front)

And my new favorite.  This is from the wrapper of some candy that a student gave me for Teacher’s Day:

This fresh dessert with original goodness and flavor that something delicious for every and sweets make a very special.

You can’t make this stuff up.  There love of English has provided me with countless hours of good humor.

There are some great shirts here. I can’t count the times I wish I had my camera with me to document them.
