Three Month Update

Three months ago I was sitting in Florida looking for a job.  Today I am a stranger in a strange land.  Today is my 3rd month of work in Korea, which also makes my niece 3 months old.  These three months have really gone by quick.  I have learned a lot in the 3 months I have been here, and I really couldn’t have asked for more.  I love my job, I get paid well, and I am well taken care of.

Living abroad has taught me a lot in the first 3 months.  I have proven to myself I can get a long in a foreign country.  When I first arrived even the simplest things seemed daunting.  I was nervous to order food even when there were pictures to point at.  The stares and strange looks I get from many of the Koreans has become second nature.  At first, it felt very strange, but not it just makes me laugh a little.  I have seen a lot of good in the people here.  There have been many times where a Korean has helped me even if they don’t speak English.

I think all too often people overlook Korea when traveling, but you should not be so fast to pass up this beautiful country.  I look forward to the next 9 monthshere and hopefully more.  I feel I have more to learn about myself and this amazing culture.

I have been slacking on writing here.  I have been very busy of late, but I am challenging myself to write everyday.  I won’t post here everyday, but I want to get better at writing and the one way I know to help with this is to write more.

In recent events, I volunteered at an orphanage last Sunday.  It was a lot of fun.  So look for that in my next post.

‘Till then

I am having a really fantastic time here, honestly. I came here, because my brother hated living here, and I wanted to see what it was all about. And, I’m so glad that I did.

Hey. I didn’t realize you were from Florida. (I went to USF.)
And, the pig picture in my blog was from the market in Daegu. So, it’s probably the same market you went to. hah.

What did you think of Daegu? I listened to most of that podcasts you were on but didnt’ have time to finish it. I only lived in Florida for just over a year, but have a lot of family in the panhandle.
